Ontario’s Climate Change Action Plan — Second-Year Progress

Ontario has made significant progress towards meeting our targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions since the government launched its first Climate Change Action Plan in June 2007.

The new Climate Change Action Plan Annual Report recognizes that Ontario has taken significant action in the areas of:

• Green energy - phasing out coal and building up new supplies of sustainable energy
• Transportation - expanding public transit
• New low-carbon economy - helping industry reduce emissions at the lowest possible cost with programs such as cap and trade.

While our progress is real, we have more to do in the months and years ahead.
