What Ontario is doing

It’s not a question of whether we should do something. We have already started.

We have a duty to our children to leave Ontario better than we found it.

Addressing environmental challenge of climate change also offers us economic opportunity. As a province with a strong manufacturing sector, plenty of natural resources, and a smart, educated, skilled workforce, there are opportunities for Ontario to prosper and grow in the new green economy.

  • GHG Reduction Targets
Targets that put Ontario among the leaders in addressing climate change. No place in Canada is committed to producing more real reductions than Ontario. (more..)
  • Our Plan: Adding It Up
Ontario’s Action Plan on Climate Change will improve the way we live and travel in southern and central Ontario, how we heat and light our homes, and will encourage businesses and industries to think green. (more..)
  • Climate Change Secretariat
The Government of Ontario has a Climate Change Secretariat that reports directly to Premier Dalton McGuinty. (more..)
  • Adapting To Climate Change
The effects of climate change are already here – and the Ontario government has a responsibility to help people and communities adapt. (more..)
