Waste Disposal Site and Waste Management System Certificates of Approval

Approval must be obtained before using, operating, establishing, altering, enlarging or extending a waste management system or a waste disposal site.

Waste Disposal Sites

Operations that require a provisional Certificate of Approval for a Waste Disposal Site include, but are not limited to:

  • a landfill or an incinerator
  • processing someone else’s waste at your facility
  • waste transfer and processing facilities and
  • biosolids spreading sites.

All applications for a provisional Certificate of Approval for a Waste Disposal Site should include the following:

Waste Management Systems

Operations that require a Certificate of Approval for a Waste Management System include, but are not limited to:

  • waste haulers
  • haulers and spreaders of biosolids and septage
  • mobile PCB destruction and
  • mobile site decontamination systems
