Ministry Regional Offices

Ministry regional offices play a leading role in the environmental assessment (EA) program. 

Regional staff provides technical comments on the ministry’s mandated areas of responsibility for air, land and water for EAs, class EAs and other self-assessment processes (electricity and waste management project regulations).

Regional EA and Planning Coordinators are the first point of contact for proponents of class EA projects and other streamlined EA processes as noted above. They ensure that the requirements of EA process are followed and implemented in accordance with the approved class EAs and other self-assessment processes.
