Regulation 347
Regulation 347 identifies hazardous wastes through a series of listings and tests. It also sets standards and requires annual registration of generators of hazardous waste (HW) and liquid industrial (LIW) and the payment of a registration fee.

Regulation 347 was amended by Ontario Regulation 461/05 to deal with on-site handling, mixing, and processing of waste, on-site storage of hazardous and liquid industrial wastes, and the requirements for waste disposal sites and waste management systems. This manual assists waste generators, carriers and receivers to understand their obligations and facilitate compliance with the requirements of Regulation 347 with respect to the management of hazardous wastes and liquid industrial wastes. The manual can be downloaded in whole or in parts.

Analysis method that must be used to identify if a waste exhibits a hazardous characteristic (leachate toxic).
Notice of the Storage of Subject Waste Form
This form can be used by generators to meet their obligations under section 17.2 of Regulation 347 with respect to the storage of subject waste for more than 90 days.
Generator Registration Report (Revised August 2007)
A printable Generator Registration Report (GRR) is available for generators who need to register by hard copy rather than electronically. Also included are instructions for submitting the GRR and for payment of the fee.
Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) Program
Regulation 347 was amended in 2005 to establish a Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) program that prohibits the land disposal of untreated hazardous wastes and requires the wastes to meet specific treatment standards.
