Chief Drinking Water Inspector Issues Municipalities Orders To Do Lead Testing

On May 23, 2007, Ontario’s Chief Drinking Water Inspector issued orders to the municipalities listed below requiring them to conduct immediate drinking water tests for lead in older homes.  Given the need for more certain information in a timely manner, the Chief Drinking Water Inspector considered it necessary to issue these orders. The municipalities chosen to perform this comprehensive sampling represent all areas of the province.  The testing will focus on single family homes that are known or likely to have lead service pipes.  View the template order
