Your drinking water works permit (DWWP) focuses on the physical and technical capabilities of your drinking water system. It provides you with the authority to establish and alter your system.
With the exception of repair, maintenance, or any modification that is exempt from the approval requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act, all alterations to your drinking water system will either be pre-authorized in your DWWP or will require an amendment to your DWWP.
If you want to take advantage of the conditions which are preauthorized in your DWWP, use the form(s) that apply to you and keep as a record:
If you would like to make an alteration or modification that has not been included as a preauthorized condition, you will have to amend your DWWP. Use this guide and form to apply for a DWWP amendment.
If you would like to request permission to fragment your system or to obtain relief from regulatory requirements, use this guide and form.
For additional information on regulatory relief, please refer to the Guide for Requesting Regulatory Relief from Lead Sampling Requirements in Schedule 15.1 of Regulation 170/03, Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002.
If you are making an addition, modification, replacement or extension to your drinking water system, you must notify the Director within thirty (30) days of completion or placing into service. Use the Director Notification Form to satisfy this condition.
