
Gail Beggs was appointed Deputy Minister of the Environment on June 1, 2007.
Gail joined the Ontario Ministry of the Environment from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) where she served as Deputy Minister from 2004 until 2007. Gail also held the concurrent role of Deputy Minister Responsible for Aboriginal Affairs from 2005 to 2007.
A career public servant, Gail has held Assistant Deputy Minister positions in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Cabinet Office and was President and CEO of the Ontario Clean Water Agency.
Gail has served on the Board of Service Ontario, the Public Service Commission, chaired the Management Committee of the Canadian Council of the Ministers of the Environment, the Bi-national Executive Committee for the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, and chaired the Great Lakes Fishery Commission.
Gail holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degrees from the University of Toronto.
