Program or Service Description:
The Drive Clean program requires vehicles that are seven years and older to undergo an emissions test at an accredited Drive Clean Facility for registration renewal. Vehicles identified with emissions problems need to be repaired at an accredited Drive Clean Facility in order to qualify for the repair cost limit.
Garage owners interested in becoming an accredited Drive Clean Facility are required to submit an application to the Drive Clean Office. The approval of a complete application may take up to 40 business days depending on the level of verification required.

- We will upon request, send application package to garage owners within two business days of receipt of the request
- We will acknowledge the receipt of your application and notify you of whether your application is complete within five business days
- We will communicate the decision within 40 business days of receiving a complete application
- Feedback on the process, or any other inquiries, can be directed to the ministry's Public Information Centre and a response will be provided within 15 business days (see below)
