Here are some tips on how to land your dream job in the environmental sector.
Got a post-secondary degree in science and looking to find a job in the environmental sector? Or looking for a career change that puts you in the environmental field?
If you’re coming out of an undergraduate program in science, or you’re looking to get job-specific training in the environmental field, many colleges in Ontario have certificate or additional qualification programs that can train you to work as a wastewater technician, environmental analyst or other jobs in the field.
For people looking for a career change, you might want to check out the province’s Second Career Program, which helps people find a new career. Some of the career training that qualifies for funding includes biological, chemical, forestry, and land survey technologists and technicians.
The Ministry of the Environment also has science-based opportunities for people who are interested in working for the environment. Check out our four-year
Environment Engineer Internship Program. It’s for recent university graduates in chemical, civil, environmental or mechanical engineering. The program provides non-licensed individuals with the work experience required to obtain their P.Eng license.
