Adaptation is a key part of a successful climate change plan. It is about taking actions now to protect ourselves, our environment, communities, economy and ecosystems from the challenges caused by a changing climate. Our provincial and community infrastructures and the support programs and services we have in place, were not developed to handle today’s weather. Ontario’s Expert Panel on Climate Change Adaptation, made up of 11 leading scientists, industry representatives and environmental experts, was asked to provide advice to help the Ontario government prepare and plan for climate change impacts.
The Panel’s report, Adapting to Climate Change in Ontario, offered a range of recommendations.
