All facilities will need a new Ontario test unit to be part of the modernized Drive Clean program. Drive Clean facilities that have not upgraded their equipment by January 1, 2013, will no longer be accredited to provide Drive Clean services.

The Drive Clean office has chosen Parsons Canada Ltd., to be responsible for providing and maintaining the new test equipment and they will begin service delivery in fall 2011.

Key features 

All modernized test equipment and service will be provided through a single service provider (Parsons Canada Ltd.). All facilities will be required to acquire the new equipment to operate within the modernized Drive Clean program.

At this time, we do not have information as to whether or not Drive Clean facilities will be able to incorporate components of their current equipment into the new testing system.

Retiring the dynamometer 

As of January 1, 2013, the current Ontario testing unit (OTU) will be completely replaced and no longer used.

Parsons Canada Ltd. will offer dynamometer-disposal services at a set cost. Parsons Canada Ltd. will be committed to disposing of this equipment in an environmentally responsible manner.
