The students of Arts Etobicoke

Eleven students aged 8-12 took part in an Environmental Arts program through Arts Etobicoke. They first explored the natural environment and studied the effects of waste and pollution. The students then worked together to create a HUGE mural that was 155 centimetres tall and 60 centimetres wide! Each student contributed an image to the mural that showed different ways we can clean up our environment.
Think about it ...
- What would you draw to show others how you can clean up the environment?
- Where do you think is the best place in your school to post a mural about cleaning up the environment? Why?
- What is one way waste (garbage) can harm the environment?
- Name three sources of pollution that make the land, air or water dirty.
- The Arts Etobicoke mural measured 155 centimetres tall and 60 centimetres wide. What is the total area of the mural?
