Thank you to everyone who submitted a grant application! We received many inspiring project ideas from individuals and communities who want to take action to protect their corner of the Great Lakes.
Application status update
The application period closed on April 26, 2013. We are processing applications now and will contact applicants when the review process is complete.
Special exception for flood-affected communities
Recognizing that many communities have declared a state of emergency following the recent flooding in central Ontario, the ministry will be extending the application deadline for the 2013 call for applications under the Great Lakes Guardian Community Fund to May 31, 2013. The new deadline will apply only to those eligible applicants located in or proposing projects that take place in the following municipalities:
- Township of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan
- Township of Ramara
- Town of Bancroft
- City of Kawartha Lakes
- Township of South Algonquin
- Township of Minden-Hills
- Town of Huntsville
- Town of Bracebridge
- Municipality of Markstay-Warren
The extension will allow these municipalities additional time to develop their proposals. Applications must conform to the program's existing eligibility requirements. The application guide, application form and supporting information are available in the Forms and Resources section.
