Frequently Asked Questions

1. What if I have both EASR-eligible activities and activities that require an ECA at my site?

You have two options. You can:

Requesting a 20.18 order will not delay or impact the review of the ECA application. The 20.18 order will be reflected in the ECA or issued with the ECA decision.

2. Do EASR-eligible activities that are sources of emissions or noise need to be considered in emission summary dispersion modeling reports (ESDM) and/or acoustic assessment reports (AARs) that are being prepared in support of an ECA application?

As per current practice, applicants should identify all sources (EASR and non-EASR) of emissions or noise within the ESDM and AAR, respectively.

Applicants should refer to existing ministry guidance when preparing each of these reports for instructions with respect to identifying and assessing significant and insignificant sources of emissions or noise.

You do not have to prepare an ESDM or AAR in order to register EASR-eligible sources such as standby power or heating systems.
