Monitoring And Reporting

Permit To Take Water (PTTW) holders are legally required to record the amount of water they take each day, for each source listed on their permits. Permit holders must report this information to the ministry for each calendar year (January to December), on or before March 31st of the following year.

The ministry’s Water Taking Reporting System (WTRS) allows permit holders to enter and submit their water-taking data electronically to the ministry, eliminating the need for paper submissions.   Each permit holder is provided with a password and user ID to access WTRS, which is fully secure and allows only permit holders or their designates to enter and view their own data.
