Green teams and their roles vary. Depending on hospital resources, some are integral to planning and implementing a hospital-wide waste-reduction program and others serve to support and promote existing waste-reduction practices. Essentially, a green team is an interdisciplinary team of representatives from various operating departments who are committed to improving the hospital’s environmental profile.
The main objective of a green team is to bring decision makers and implementers together to promote change. Change can be accomplished in a variety of ways, however, it is best accomplished as a team effort.
