Ontario Regulation 419/05: Air Pollution – Local Air Quality (O. Reg. 419/05) is a key component of Ontario's work to reduce industrial emissions of harmful pollutants. The regulation is intended to protect communities against adverse effects from local sources of air emissions.
Under O. Reg. 419/05, the ministry sets air standards as point of impingement limits for contaminants that are released by facilities. These standards are developed to protect human health and the environment (they do not consider technical or economic issues).
