Maps, Research and Monitoring

Maps

There are three ways you can view maps of the Lake Simcoe watershed and its subwatersheds:

1. Using Google Earth (download it free, from Google) you can open these Google Earth map layers (.kmz file), which provide key information on the Lake Simcoe watershed, its subwatersheds and current monitoring efforts including information on monitoring stations, locations of sewage and water treatment plants, and land use information (e.g. vegetation and wetland cover). The map layers will be updated as the Lake Simcoe Protection Plan is implemented.

2. If you’d rather not use Google Earth, the links below will take you to simpler maps with the most vital information.

3. You can use Land Information Ontario (LIO) from the Ministry of Natural Resources to search for data about Lake Simcoe and even make your own maps.
