At a May 2008 public information session on the Pottersburg PCB Storage Site decommissioning project, the Ministry of the Environment indicated it would form a community working group and invited members of the public to communicate their interest. In June 2008 the Community Liaison Group was formed.
Members include scientific experts, health and labour officials, residents, and representatives of the Middlesex-London Health Unit and the City of London. The members of this group draw on their scientific and technical knowledge to identify and address the interests of the community. They either live or work in London and have a vested interest in ensuring that the environment is fully protected throughout the project. In July 2008, the group provided input to aid the ministry in preparing a Request for Proposals document to select a qualified contractor for the decommissioning project. This group acts as a link to the community and has been engaged throughout the project.
Community Liaison Group meetings are open to the public. Notice of meetings and meeting summaries are posted on this website.
