General Account Information

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment Twitter account is managed by the ministry’s Communications Branch.

The @environmentont Twitter account will be updated and monitored during regular office hours, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays observed in Ontario. Twitter may occasionally be unavailable and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment accepts no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime.

If you follow this account, you can expect on average 0-3 tweets per day.

If you follow @environmentont, the ministry will not automatically follow you back. This helps us reduce resource wastage due to handling spam. It also discourages the use of Direct Messaging and allows you to easily identify key Twitter accounts that are relevant to the ministry. Being followed by @environmentont does not imply an endorsement of any kind.

Twitter accounts that engage in inflammatory behaviour (personal attacks on other users, derogatory remarks, foul language), and those identified as spam accounts will be un-followed or blocked by @environmentont
