Description: The purpose of this study was to determine if the existing ministry Air Quality Index (AQI) station located in Newmarket is representative of the heavily populated areas of southern York Region. This study also presented the opportunity to provide some indications of the new health-risk based index developed by the federal government, the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI).
