Procedure for the Calculation of the Monetary Benefit Component of Environmental Penalties
Description: The Ministry of the Environment (“Ministry”) is responsible for developing, enforcing and providing education and outreach on Ontario’s environmental laws. The purpose of environmental penalty orders (EP orders) is to protect the environment by inducing companies to comply with environmental regulations and take swift remedial action in the event of a spill, discharge, or other environmental violation.
