Description: This guideline outlines planning, design and operational practices for composting facilities. It replaces the Interim Guidelines for the Production and Use of Aerobic Compost in Ontario first released in November 1991, and last updated in 2004.
The Guideline consists of four parts:
Part I - Introductory information and an overview of the legislative framework
Part II - Guidance on the planning and development of a composting facility
Part III - Best management practices for composting facilities
Part IV - Issues related to odour prevention and control.
