When ministry staff observe or forecast air quality to reach the poor AQI category, the ministry will issue a Smog Advisory.
High pollutant levels can have serious impacts on human health. The ministry issues Smog Advisories to help the public minimize the risk of health impacts and to ask the public to cut back on activities that contribute to poor air quality.
