Wheatley Harbour Remediation

In April 2010, Lake Erie's Wheatley Harbour was removed from the list of environmental hotspots within the Great Lakes Basin.

Wheatley Harbour, a small harbour just east of Point Pelee, was designated a Great Lakes Area of Concern under the Canada-U.S. Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement in 1985.

Today the ecosystem is restored. Fish and wildlife populations in Wheatley Harbour are healthy. The fish community is abundant and diverse. Water quality has improved.
