Adapting stormwater management for climate change
The Ministry of the Environment has completed a review of the need for a new policy, act or regulation to deal with municipal stormwater management systems in Ontario municipalities in light of climate change.
Innovation and water-conservation opportunities
The Water Opportunities and Water Conservation Act encourages the creation and export of innovative clean-water technology, promotes water conservation, attracts economic development and creates jobs. Stormwater reuse and Low Impact Development practices at the source are important opportunities for innovation, conserving water, building resilient municipal stormwater management systems and supporting a strong economy in Ontario.
