Collection of Pharmaceuticals and Sharps — Responsibilities of Producers (O. Reg. 298/12) – Number of Collection Locations
Subsection 4 (1) of Ontario Regulation 298/12 requires that a producer of a pharmaceutical or sharp establish a minimum number of collection locations that is equivalent to the lesser of a specified percentage of the retail locations at which the pharmaceutical or sharp is sold, or a specified percentage of pharmacies in Ontario accredited under the Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act as of October 1 in the preceding year.
The number of pharmacies accredited under the Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act is determined by the Ministry of the Environment Director for the regulation in consultation with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
