Well Records
Well records provide construction information, along with general quantity and quality information about the well’s water supply. Records are used by government, consultants, contractors and well owners to:
- learn about the well-water supply (groundwater) and geology of an area (including water quality and quantity issues)
- manage groundwater resources
- locate existing wells
For a water supply well, a well record must be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment when:
- a new well is constructed
- an existing well is altered (unless it is a minor alteration or pump installation)
- an existing well is abandoned (sealed and plugged)
Download or request a well record
- Download well record data from the MOE website.
- Request a well record using one of these forms:
- Form A: Individual Well Record (to obtain a copy of the actual record as submitted by the contractor at the time of construction)
- Form B: Computer Print-Out (to obtain water well data information, in a printed report, generated from well record submissions)
- Form C: Digital Data (to obtain water well data information, in a digital format, generated from well record submissions)
