Ontario is over a million square kilometers in size – larger than Spain and France combined! Within our province you can find great forests, bountiful farmland and rocks rich with minerals. This abundance and variety are a huge part of Ontario’s economic strength and high quality of life.
We often take our natural resources for granted and a lot of us don’t realize that many of our daily activities can pollute, harm or endanger our land. Garbage, hazardous waste, chemicals, pesticides, business and farming practices – all put a strain on the health of our environment.
Ontario has so many precious resources. We have so much to be proud of, and that also means we have so much to lose. That’s why we must all play a role in protecting our resources.
