Hauled sewage (which is the “official” term for septage in Ontario regulations) includes wastes from septic tanks, holding tanks* and portable toilets from residential, commercial and industrial sources.

      • with discharge to surface or groundwater

    • Land application of treated septage

    • Temporary storage of treated septage
      • on agricultural land

  • Untreated Septage
    • Land application of untreated septage to any type of land
    • Transportation, in-transit processing and treatment of untreated septage 

* There are a number of houses, cottages and other establishments currently serviced by holding tanks. The installation of new holding tanks is not permitted, except in special circumstances.
