The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) program was launched in 2009 to collect and divert computers, monitors, computer peripherals, printers, fax machines and televisions from landfills.
The program was expanded in April 2010 to include additional materials (for a total of 44), including telephones, cell phones, cameras and other audio/visual equipment. See the complete list.
The WEEE program is operated by Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) and financed by industry.
