In addition to meeting the experience and education requirements for becoming a Toxic Substance Reduction Planner, applicants must also pass a licensing examination at the end of the in-class training.
Applicants register for the examination when they register for the training. The final afternoon of in-class training will be reserved for writing the licensing examination.
The examination will be closed book, multiple choice and based on course content and other knowledge a planner is expected to have in order to become licensed.
Participants will be required to achieve a mark of 70 per cent or higher in order to receive a toxic substance reduction planner licence.
Failing the examination
A participant who fails the examination on the first attempt can make arrangements to re-write it free of charge. However, after two fails there will be a charge of $225.00 to re-write it again.
A participant who fails the examination three times would be required to wait one year from the date of the last examination and then re-apply to the program. The participant would be required to take the entire training course and pay all applicable fees again. At the end of that in-class training, the participant may re-take the examination.
