Adverse Water Quality Incident Report

Camp On Grandi
Township of Fauquier, District of Cochrane

Incident Resolution:
Pending. The Porcupine Health Unit issued a Boil Water Advisory (BWA) dated June 21, 2006.

MOE Role:
Staff from the ministry's Safe Drinking Water Branch conducted a site visit on June 28, 2006.

The local Health Unit and Ministry staff will continue to work closely with the owner of the system to protect public health, and to ensure that a safe potable water supply is maintained for the users of this system.

Background (if there is a history of the site):
The site visit confirmed the facility has two separate drinking water systems. The groundwater system supplies the kitchen and the owner's chalet. The shower building is supplied by a surface water source. Both systems have identical but separate treatment consisting of cartridge filters and UV disinfection. This camp opened July 2, 2006 and has posted the required signs.
