Pending. The Porcupine Health Unit continued a Boil Water Order (BWO) that was issued in 2004.

The public health inspector indicated that to lift the BWO, he will require written correspondence from an Engineer or MOE indicating the system meets the requirements of O.Reg. 170/03, as well as, a series of acceptable sample results.

MOE Role:
Staff from the ministry's Safe Drinking Water Branch conducted a site visit of the facility on June 28, 2006.

The local Health Unit and Ministry staff will continue to work closely with the owner of the system to protect public health, and to ensure that a safe potable water supply is maintained for the users of this system.

Background (if there is a history of the site):
The site visit confirmed the facility has installed and commissioned ultra-violet disinfection system plus chlorination and cartridge filtration. The Engineering Evaluation Report (EER) is in production but has not been provided to the system owner. The camp opened July 3, 2006 and the drinking water supply has been posted.
