Two locations - West Shore System
Total coliforms >80 and Total coliforms >80
Boil Water Advisory in effect since June 2000 for West Shore System
Resampling details and result: Re-sampling ongoing.
Routine samples taken from the West and East Dock systems by the municipality continue to indicate occasional adverse water quality results.
MOE Role: MOE inspected water system in July 2000, September 2001 and February 2003.
Improvements to the water treatment system will be required in order to provide adequate treatment of the water.
MOE is pursuing action to achieve compliance with O.R. 459, O.R. 435 and required upgrades and provisions under the facility's consolidated Certificate of Approval.
Background (if there is a history of the site): East water system has been under Boil Water Advisory since August 2000. Deficiencies identified in intake of raw water (sediment) and disinfection due to turbidity.
West Shore water system has been under Boil Water Advisory since June 2000.
A Provincial Office Order was issued in March 2002 and it has not been complied with.
Incident Resolution: Ongoing - Boil Water Advisory remains in effect.
