Partners in Air

Partners in Air is a hands-on program giving students an opportunity to conduct air quality studies and to discuss their findings with students and scientists everywhere via the Internet.

The program has three components:

  • in-class activities, including instruction, lab experiments, resource materials and projects;
  • monitoring for ozone, particulate matter, sulphur oxide and other smog precursors; and
  • a Web site for on-line sharing of information.

Partners in Air is supported by the provincial government and corporate sponsors, who cover the cost of equipment, supplies and training. The program's sponsors are Dofasco Inc., Shell Canada Limited, General Motors of Canada Limited, Petro-Canada, Ontario Power Generation Inc. and St. Lawrence Cement.
