Health and Science Panel
Recent studies indicate that air pollution is the cause of 5,800 premature deaths in Ontario every year and causes close to $10 billion in damages, including over $6 billion in health care costs. With this panel, the audience will hear more indepth analysis of the science behind air pollution and its impacts on the health care system. Participants will also hear a testimonial to clean air from one of Canada’s premier athletes and Olympic medal winner.

CEO Panel
To effectively address the challenges of air pollution will require concerted efforts between Governments, the private sector and others. The private sector can provide leadership, new technologies and innovative solutions to the problems of air pollution. This panel will discuss potential innovations in technology and corporate leadership in air quality management as well as the relationship between air quality and competitiveness.

State Panel
The U.S. is also facing major air quality challenges. Much of the responsibility for implementing programs and policies to deal with air quality issues falls upon State legislators and State Governments. During this panel discussion, Summit participants will hear about the particular challenges which State Governments and legislators face in the battle for clean air. They will also hear about innovative approaches being adopted in the U.S. in dealing with the challenges of air pollution.
