Welcome to sharedair.ca, the government of Ontario's transboundary air pollution website.

The province's transboundary air strategy includes coordinating the government’s activities to address air pollution that originates outside of the province and affects the entire Northeastern airshed.

This strategy includes:

• obtaining the best strategic and scientific advice to shape Ontario’s transboundary agenda;
• establishing partnerships with neighbouring jurisdictions to build on existing inter-provincial and binational co-operation;
• exploring legal actions if and when necessary to protect our shared interests; and,
• increasing communications and public education to raise the issue of transboundary air pollution, particularly through our annual Shared Air Summit.
