MSWG Awards

The MSWG recognizes the contributions of individuals and organizations through the MSWG Awards Program. The following awards were presented at the 2006 Fall Regional Conference.

Outstanding Service Award

The Outstanding Service Award is given to an individual who has contributed significantly to the work of MSWG over an extended period of time. The intent of this award is to honor a MSWG member whose efforts and accomplishments have been key factors in the success of the mission of MSWG.

Leadership Award

The Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has shown exceptional performance in a leadership capacity in advancing the goals of the MSWG network.

International Innovation Award

The International Innovation Award is a new MSWG award that recognizes individuals or organizations who have demonstrated environmental leadership and innovative approaches or programs to advance environmental management.  Members of the Ontario Environmental Leaders (OEL) Program were nominated for this award to recognize their commitments to reduce their environmental footprint and improve the environment through their participation in the OEL Program. Under the OEL Program, the Ministry of the Environment provides incentives to environmental leaders who commit to take steps to go beyond compliance in their operations.
