Town of Orangeville Groundwater Resources and Contamination Assessment / Prevention Study |
||
|
The Town of Orangeville PWPF study received $38,999 from the MOE, representing 26 percent of the total cost of the study ($150,169). The study began in winter, 2000, and was completed in August 2001. The Town of Orangeville already had completed a groundwater management study prior to the PWPF study, which included a detailed contamination assessment and a groundwater model. The PWPF study built upon the recommendations of the 1998 study by updating wellhead capture zones, areas of aquifer vulnerability, groundwater models, and contaminant source inventories (focusing on industrial, commercial, and agricultural contaminant sources). The groundwater modeling portion of the PWPF study included a large region surrounding Orangeville. Contaminant sources were georeferenced in the PWPF study to establish their location. For more information on this study please contact the county, municipality or township at (519) 941-2671. Executive Summary View document: [PDF] (2 MB) |
