York Region Groundwater Management Study

The York Region study is led by The Regional Municipality of York. The municipality received $556,614 from the MOE for the study. The study components include: delineating wellhead protection areas at 20 municipal wells. Additional study components include regional groundwater characterization, regional contaminant source inventory, and groundwater use assessment.

The study will also include preparation of a water budget for the region, and will focus on the Yonge St. Aquifer which is the primary aquifer in the area.
